Barry attended the University of Bridgeport, Bridgeport CT, where he majored in Music Education.
He is a member of the Salem State University Concert band where he currently is the Baritone saxophone chair. In addition, he is an accomplished musician on the local blues and jazz scene. For more information and music clips please see the performance page.
Barry has been teaching students of all ages the saxophone, flute and clarinet for over ten years, both privately and as part of adjunct faculty at The Tower School, Marblehead, MA, Odyssey Day School, Wakefield, MA and currently at Marblehead Public Charter School.
Barry uses an interdisciplinary approach to learning music and incorporates not only technical instruction but also music theory, appreciation and history.
Many of his students have started with him in the early grades and continued their studies with him through high school and beyond.

Piano Tuning and
Barry Fleischer learned the craft of piano tuning from the prestigious North Bennet Street School, which he graduated from in 1988 with a major in Piano Technology.
He began his own piano tuning business immediately after graduating. Barry has been tuning and servicing pianos throughout the greater Boston and North Shore area including Cape Ann.
