About the Band
Is a mighty, five piece instrumental band playing Swing, Ballads and Blues. Our music is perfect for dancing or listening.
The band captures all the hot , swinging excitement of its namesake, the classic radio show out of New York in the 1940’s, WNEW SATURDAY NIGHT SWING SESSION. The band is led by Barry Fleischer, playing Clarinet, Alto, Tenor, Baritone Saxophones and flute.
The band also features Will Adams on trumpet, Steve Hershman on piano, John Turner on string bass, and Greg Roberts on drums.
Saturday Night Swing Session plays the music of the Swing Era greats such as Benny Goodman, Charlie Barnet, Duke Ellington and Fats Waller to name a few. The Great American Songbook is featured as well as a diverse repertoire of tempos featuring swing and blues.
